1918 World Series

Heres a little trivia, When was the Star Spangled Banner first sung at a Baseball game?

From then on, the song was played at every World Series outing and every season opener (though it was not yet adopted as the national anthem). The custom of playing it before every game began during WWII, after the installation of stadium speaker systems made it more feasible."

Babe Ruth also had two wins as a pitcher for the SOX in the 1918 World Series,Games 1 and 4.

I saw the Bucco's and the Red Sox at Turn back the Clock Night at PNC park, Although it was a night game, They turned off the Scoreboard, and PA system. And all the players were dressed in Vintage 1918? Uniforms. It was really great, probably the best Pirates game I ever saw.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

totally understandable Lazs as your team has won what 25 straight 1st place finishes, and all of one world series. I know your voting B. Cox for president. Don't hate the playa hate the Game. New broadway play "damn Yankees close" but the new Sox play is on" Wadda ya mean we won, wicked cool, pisser."
a story of a team that thought winning the alcs means you win the world series. I can't ay it yet but go Cardstro's or Asdinal's.

The best part about tonight is that one of these teams will be eliminated.  We can only hope the NLCS winner will take care of the rest.

How ironic.  Bottom 7 and the Yanks get two back to back doubles.

He's awaken. :)
