sound problem
« on: October 21, 2004, 11:43:18 AM »
Ive been away for a bit and finally got my internet back up, but now I have no gun sound.  All the other sounds seems to work fine but no gun.

any ideas?

in the sounds folder the listings are there and they will play when clicked on but nothing in game.

Thanks

Maybe the file for the gun sounds is corrupt?  Cant hurt to try replacing it.

if ur flying a P38,turn down sound acceleration cple notches.I ran into that prob,whilst running a SB card.Don't know why it helps,but it does.

There is no real reason for one sound to not play while others do.  They are all just wav files.  A couple of things;

1)  Make sure no files are missing or have gotten corrupted.
2)  If you installed a custom sound pack, remove it and install the standard sounds.
3)  Rename your "settings" folder and try it.  If it works, then something in there has gotten corrupted.  NOTE:  This makes the game act like a new installation.
