Water Glare effect on bomb site calibration, Patch 11
« on: October 25, 2004, 11:27:45 AM »
HTC,
The new patch with the water glare effect makes calibrating a bomb site over water next to impossible. From one of our squaddies:

"The thing I noticed is that at certain angles the sun's glare on water makes it impossible to see your bomb sight cross hairs.  It may also make the water color so dark that you can't see the "waves" to use them to calibrate your bomb sight.  In the current arena, with a lot of ocean, this can be a real problem.  What can you do?

When you start Aces High, in the first menu screen, select "Video Setup".  In the lower left corner you will see a box labeled "Hardware Vertex Processing".  Uncheck this box and the water glare problem will go away."

I never assumed you could calibrate the bomb site on wavetops... i mean waves are moving i thought?

Sure would think calibrating on the ocean would be next to impossible... is there any realworld experience?
