Pundits claim Kerry is dodging interviews
By Joe Murphy Political Editor, Evening Standard
27 October 2004
John Kerry was today hit by accusations he is running scared from being interviewed.

The latest high-profile journalist to complain that the Democrat is avoiding cross-examination is Bob Woodward, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Watergate reporter.

I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with his 20 year senate voting record, nor the content of that "plan" he has.

Why should he subject himself to interviews where he may damage his chances of winning the election when he can just sit back and let the lefty media push has campaign along?

Hey did you know that Bush has a secret plan to bring back the draft?  And he let 380 tons of nucular material get looted while he was on vacation in Crawford?

And he's gonna turn Social Security over to Enron.

He's just taking a page from the current president, who has held the fewest press conferences of any president since the invention of television.

Considering that the last pres that gave fewer press conferences was in a time of war, its not surprising to say the least.
But Kerry is a candidate running for the position of the POTUS. He should be encouraged to give interviews and welcome them with open arms, after all, the press would probably favor him, no?  So what IS KERRY'S excuse?

Press conference, interview, what's the difference, right?

I mean, the guy only wants to be POTUS, he just doesn't want us to realize what a schmuck he is or that will never happen.

Bush and Cheney both are dodging interviews. Are they trying to hide something? Accountability maybe?

Because the DNC knows that Kerry isnt likeable.  The less personal exposure he gets (like interviews) the fewer votes he loses.

Yes; fewer votes from skiers, wind surfers and hunters.

Radio. A form of media.  But disregard the valid question since you have no answer for your candidate as well.

Truman, Ike, Johnson, and Nixon were also presidents in a time of war.

Hey if its good for Bush :)

Bush has held only eleven solo press conferences, fewer than almost any modern President. Over a comparable period, his father held seventy-one and Bill Clinton thirty-eight.

Bush is the only one scared of interviews as he is incapable of answering even the simpliest of questions. Put him in a room without support and a prearragend speech and he's useless. Imagine if he had to put up with the same kind of questioning as Blair for a week.

LOL
