It's one thing to hate those over there who are killing are troops, but it's anothering to broaden the subject into the direct relationship of one religion...

You people are sad.. Very sad indeed.

Hawklore, this isn't about religion. It's about people who look and talk funny, and the pimps who force them into weight loss programs.

When ANY religion calls for the death of another group, I have problems with it.  "Holy wars" are for the weakminded.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise....
Our two weapons are fear and surprise... and ruthless efficiency....
Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...
and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope....
Our four... no...
Amongst our weapons... Amongst our weaponry...
are such elements as fear, surprise...
I'll come in again.

RPM, I think we found some common ground here. I'd like to think that the human race had outgrown crusades, holy wars, televangelists and human sacrifice to the Sun God...but the spirit of it would appear to be as alive and well in the world today as it was 10,000 years ago. Disgusting.

I just talked to Marine back from Iraq.  He doesn't like Iraq and said he hopes never to go back.  I asked him if he was going to re-enlist and he said "absolutely".  Takes balls.

Do realize that god is much more violent in the Bible..

And that is not exactly true..

yes entire cities were razed in the name of God  helfire and brimstone......

What's not exactly true.  I am a citizen of the United States.  I pay taxes to a govt. that supports Israel, therefore a Jihad is called against me and my family!  Don't beleive me....ask Osama Bin Laden!

Hawklore what you and most other people don't realize is that christianity is just a label.  One can say they are a christian but come the day that the lord judges us he will see whether we have lived and walked in the ways of the lord.

Religion is an institution created by man to become closer to God.  Christ was a lamb created by God to become closer to man.

I don't have religion....I have faith

There is a huge difference
