your background colour's gotta be pink.  I'd suggest making a copy of the original gunsight and modifying that one using
MS Paint.  Mine's basically the default with a dot 2-3 pixels down from the centre.

I know there's a link to a bnch of sights on BBS. I took one and modified it so I have a Circle with a dot in center.

RGR humble. I have been using one of the player designed sights found on the HTC website since moving over to AH. I have just got an idea about a sight I want to create but dont know how to go about it.

Guys,

I have tried using the default gunsight and run it in MS Paint, which comes with Win98.  However, after editing it and saving it, the next time I fly AH, I see a big pink square in the middle of my screen.  What gives?  How can I get around it?  I thought the background was SUPPOSED to be pink.

I need help,

Jedman

Not just any pink, it has to be color rgb <255,0,255> (that's red, green, blue). The alignment indicators should be color rgb <0,255,0>.

Save it as a 32x32 256 color bitmap (bmp) and everything should work.

MSPaint really is everything you need, but there are many free utilites out there these days. ImageForge, for instance, was just recently released to the public as freeware. You can find it at http://www.cursorarts.com/

Good luck and have fun playing!

Thanks.  I'll try it.  I'll bet my problem is the 256 color thing, because I'm doing everything else correctly: 32x32, 255,0,255, etc.  However, I run my computer in true color. Maybe that makes the difference.

Not neccessarily, my sight is orange dot, not green.
