If you are having trouble landing the carrier, try this. It works for me and maybe it will help you too.   Sorry about the size of the pics..tried to make them small but still legible.

Nice tutorial, but please show us one in the F6f with a landing.

I can put all the planes down almost everytime, except the f6f. What's your tip on the f6f?

Ditch and swim.

Seriously now,   I haven't been able to land the F6F either. Touching the deck is instant death. No matter the speed, glide slope...it's touch..BOOOM!! Bug maybe?

I got no problem landing the F6F. Along with the TBM its the easiest because of its good forward visibility.

But I fly a Seafire approach, which is totally different.

Well speak up juzz, share with the class!!

I've tried high approaches, low approaches, fast, slow, flaps down, no flaps...i've even tried it inverted  ....as soon as the wheels touch the deck..BOOM...shark chud !

Something that helps me with both planes is to use the page-up key to lift my head for more visibility.  Only use it on final aproach and practice it off-line.  It can be somewhat disorienting at first... but with some practice it helps alot.

The F6F will explode on landing if you have the tailhook down every time.  Pull the tailhook in and just land it with the gear down and you can set it down just fine.  BTW, the area with the arresting wires is also a hot-rearm pad.

I'm sure this is a bug and will be addressed quickly!

Excellent tutorial. Thanks much.  I've achieved carrier landings in WarBirds but so far in Aces High am batting zero in roughly 472 attempts (but hey, who's counting?. Here's hoping for a hang-glider or helicopter winch in 1.06.

Thanks ! Your efforts to help are great . Now to practice more .

BTW I did land a Hellcat twice offline , 8 tries 6 deaths , once no hook , once with . Man it is too hard IMO but maybe this will help , god I hope so . In WB's offline , could do it first time

Hell to land online anyway , they turn the ship so much doubt I could get it down anyway .

cheers spro

Leph--

I dont have any problem landing the F6F or the spit on the Carrier. Im no expert but I get them down in one piece prolly 75% of the time. That is with the hook down, snatching the AC to a halt. Now the TBM I dont have much to add..mostly becuase I have failed to rtb that big fat juicy target

Maybe it's an "offline" problem?  I'll have to do some testing in the TA and see what's up.

I've done landing with F4U, F6F, Seafire and Zeke. I can't say  'no problem'
With F6F, I've done low and slow approach with hook, with F4U like Grizz taught, with Zeke and seafire, low and slow...

Gotta practice...
