Break Out AAR
« on: November 20, 2004, 03:14:44 PM »
The 68th was assigned to escort bombers and saw little action. I think I saw 1 -190 for a second . Overall It was a very boring 3 hours for us. I did not even fire a shot until the last 15min on a fighter hanger.Did anyone see Air to Air action? We where the only planes left at the end of the frame escorting bombers back to target in the last 15 min of the frame.

Seems you guys must have snuck around the Axis strikes.

Nightmares were tasked with defending A40 and V102. The Germans beat us to it and trashed the placed before I think we, or the 412th, or the AKs got there. I think the AKs engaged the lead elements there.

We showed up and spotted tons of 110s low but also 109s and 190s higgh. A huge fight at A40, V102, and V103. Then after rearming we ran into a very large JU88 formation strike.

The survivors of that swept A39 and put down another 3 190s.

I wonder if the Axis (lower on numbers) didn't have a strong fighter defense in place. Or if you guys outflanked it.

i didnt see any fighters up high to engage our bombers until we were leaving the area.  I went to draw what fighters were around down away from our bombers and then it happened, 190s came out of the woodwork. seems that they were expecting the allied bombers low. i felt that we had suprised them, good job!

Our squad (190A8's)was in charge of escorting the 110's but there was only 4 of us.  The Ak's is who we engaged to give the 110's the time they needed to trash the base.  Was 4 of us to about 15-20 of them, lol.  We lasted long enough for our 110's to do there job!. hehehehehe.

I think your big problem was that it was only a two hour event. You should have loged with the rest of us a T+120 :D
