interesting afternoon
« on: December 25, 2004, 05:17:05 AM »
today i got to be the one to spend the afternoon 'old man sitting' my significant other's typically grumpy grandfather.

the image.  dying of emphysema...chain smoking...house ridden and blind...

fox news 24/7 on the television and a deep and growing paranioa ever rising...

our conversations typically revolve around who he thinks should be hanged and how they should be hanged and what offenses they have done which might justify the hangings....and then of course the time span from sentencing to hanging...hes of the next day hanging camp.

for those of you who know me...this is about as much fun as having my package scraped with a cheese grater.

but today was something different.

today the old coot decided to go on a tangent about his time in the war and how the younger generation dont know squat about it...etc.

retired air force.

wouldnt you know i told him a thing or two about planes this afternoon.

you might have thought he was gonna drop over dead right there when i mentioned the story about the target practice bombers that i read about in a post recently and how the zero was a great turner but slow and the standard gun packages on a pony.  all sorts of stuff that fails to return to memory now, but it was there.

we talked for hours about all sorts of things.  the ice broken.  we finally bonded.

of course, had he known that i learned all of this from a video game im sure that id be swinging from the gallows come mornin.

anyways, thanks...and
keep the interesting stories rollin folks, theres a rope tie with my name on it.

(oh, and did you know that the 13 knots are there so that they whap you upside the head to break your neck?)
