Is the UN expressing anger at the US?
« on: December 31, 2004, 01:05:14 PM »
I'm ignorant about most issues relating to the UN.

But, I have often wondered why the US would give foreign aid to people who hate us.

I accept the fact that some aid is political.

What I do not accept is UN control over the US. I hope that most Americans recognise that the UN has given legitimacy to countries that are not deserving of recognition, that really do not respect human rights, but would like to use status in the UN to undermine the US.

I think a discusion of the UN and US relationship would be a refreshing change of pace.
