What "new" muscle car would you like to see?
« on: January 12, 2005, 11:24:38 AM »
Reading Sandy's thread got me thinking.  What old muscle car would you like to see built looking very closely to the originial but with modern drivetrain, interior, etc...

My pick is the '69 Camaro.

Second would be the '69 GTO.

What say you?

I'm biased but I'd love to see a remake of the classic Cougar.  They need to make up for the chiclet car they tried a couple of years ago.  The classic Cougar had some really neat styling trademarks that no other car had.  I'd love to see a designer's take on that form.

I think any company would be successful with a styling copy of any of their '68 or '69 pony cars... Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, 'Cuda, Challenger. There'd be a market for any of those amongst those of us who lusted after the high performance ones but couldn't afford them back then.

Same for the mid-size; Chevelles, GTO's, Chargers, Roadrunners, GS, 442.

I believe the opportunity is there and going that "retro" would be a daring move that would draw sales in and of itself amongs folks that weren't even alive back then.

But for me it'd have to be a 68 Z-28.

My favorite has allways been the Chevelle SS convertable. I am not sure the year but my best friends big brother had one when I was young and impressionable and it has always been a favorite of mine. 68 I think

Pongo,
Thats a 67 I think. The 68 was a major body style change from that.

Yup. 67. 68 looked more like a 69 except there were flags behind the chevy logo on the grill and the tail lights were rectangular instead of the 69 "triangle" look.

My favorite was the 70.
