Mac, I'll gladly send some prayers for all of you to get through this.

Now kiss and make up with Seeker.  :D

I'll pray for him too.

Good luck Mac.  I lost a brother and my favourite uncle in the run up to Xmas.  I think your old codger still has a fair bit of life in him yet though ;)

Im not the praying type, so i'll join Beet1e in sending the good vibes across the Pond.

AWMac,
Just saw this. Best wishes for your Dad's recovery!

*UPDATE*

Well we are passing the 37th hour and things are looking good. He is able to sit up for short periods of time.  He's on morphine and other meds. Although he isn't entirely out of the woods  just yet.  Our biggest fears right now are blood clots.

He seems to have his wits about him, he's flirting with the nurses. Heh Guess you can take the man out of the Navy but you can't take the Navy out of the man.

The prayers, waves and vibes seem to be working, so keep them coming please. My Family and I greatly appreciate them all.

Will keep you posted.

Again Thank You all so much.

Mac

Glas,

:(   No words to express my sympathy for you.  I lost my brother in February of 2003.  It is coming up on the second year, and I still miss him more than ever.  A dual tragedy must be more pain than I can imagine.  I will add you and your's to my prayers and pray that your family and yourself find acceptance, and that your brother and uncle find peace in their new life.

He rested over night peacefully.  He's a bit cranky, was never one to stay in a bed for long periods.  My guess is he'll try to make a break for it. The Doctors and Nurses have been alerted to this fact.  They have him covered.  Nothing like seeing a one lunged, opened gown in the back, wrinkled assed Squid trying to make it out the front door.  My guess is he'll give up the thought after 8 steps.

He's doing remarkable, but he also needs to listen to the Doctors too. He can be BoneHeaded  I figured we can battle the fear and flee thingy with nurses and sponge baths.

He's doing better than expected, vitals are greatly improving, he's coming irritable and biyotchy..which is near norm for him. We have to watch out for blood clots now..That is a BIG prob.

Keep the prayers, waves and vibes coming please.

My Family and I thank you all deeply.

Mac

It has been done Mac and he will remain in my prayers.  I know how it is as I lost my Grandfather (who raised me from birth) and was the only father that I had ever known.  It is tough but I have this feeling that he will pull through.

All the BEST to you and yours!

*UPDATE*

Dad is moving about.  They're making him walk a lil 4 times a day now.  He's gettin really *****y right now which is a good sign.  He demanded REAL food today LOL.  Tomorrow they will move him out of ICU and into another room.... then later in a few days move him into a regular ward.  All is looking good so far.  They wanna keep him active and moving to prevent blood clots and pnamomia (sic).

But all in all I really believe it has been the prayers, waves and vibes that has made this a lil easier.

I thank you from my heart for all.

Done.

Give him my best, tell him it gets better...slowly.. but it does get better.

*Update*

He's now in a Recovery Room and out of ICU.  Later they will move him to a Ward.  He's getting more fussy than evar *good sign* But neavar complaind when it's sponge bath time, go figure.
He's still trying to flirt with the Nurses...There's something about a woman in uniform LOL Heh Navy Squids...

He's got the cushion pump wraps on his legs that keeps the blood flowing through the legs. Still we worry about blood clots and phnomia (*) But the medical staff are keeping him active, making him get up a walk a few feet 4 times a day...that's when he really let's the Sailor language fly LOL. Vitals are doing really great. All in all, Poop Deck Pappy seems like he's gonna make it.

My Family and I greatly appreciate the prayers, waves and vibes sent out our way. just keep them coming for a lil more time if that isn't to much to ask.  You guys are Great, I thank you all dearly.

My apologies for taking so long to read this thread. Our thoughts are with your family Mac. Remember, those old vets are much tougher than we can ever imagine.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
