RedTop, guys,,,,
This is not a "why can't we get along" thought. But it is a request to look at a perspective. The war on terror has thrown into the laps of our freinds across the pond a real and present danger that their lives can be destroyed without notice at any moment now.
Europe has a danger from its large communities of Muslims that have imigrated there over the last 30 years. Because of the recent trends in the EU and other countries concerning laws covering racial hate crimes, racial and religious hate crimes we do not hear much about the friction between the host countries and their muslim communities. I may get flak here, but I attempt to keep up on other than U.S. based news.
Our European members are angry and afraid. Before the war on terror was launched, it was possible maybe to have done business as usual. Negotiated, delayed, accepted a few casulties here and there. Used other methods and allow things to subside like the end of the Bosnia incident. But George W. Bush chose not to. And now they have to live in the what if limbo of not knowing each day if the watermelon is gonna drop on them.
America is a wee bit isolated in a defensable position. Europe is not. But, some generation from the west probably was going to have to do this. Looks like it's this one wheather we wanted it or not.
A better question I think is: How long is long enough to accept the evil actions of these people? Right up till you are the last one of us standing?
