Yeah its sweet.

With the smoke effect, the light effect and the new gunfire it really really looks good.

Nevermind, found them.  Really nice.

That proly explains why my aim is so bad.  I looked at the pic 10 times before I saw them, lol

lol there is very little contrast between the casings and the terrain so its hard to see. I had to do a double take when I first saw them. Thought maybe they were birds. :D

I just hope you can toggle them off.

Or at least I'd like 2 settings.. "Me" and "everyone else"... Thus MY ride has all this detail but nobody else is going to bog me down with it.

Good point Krusty and a very valid concern.

I wonder, how much of a load these little shells are going to have on FR?

If its going to be a significant amount for those who have mediocore systems at best, can you imagine pulling up behind a set of B17's and having all those 50's dump empty shells in your face!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't B-17s shells be entering the fuselage area and not being released into the sky?

Well many shells did end up inside the fuselage but they were not directed there. On the brownings, the rounds were fed in one side and ejected out the other. I do not know how the tail gunner's twin 50's were aranged as far as ejection ports but all brownings were fed the same way and ejected the same way. As far as an MG being hand operated. Obviously this isn't the same for a browning mounted in a wing.

And I highly doubt that the shells where a welcome presence on the floor inside the plane.

Anyone who's ever walked around at a range with empty casings knows what I'm talking about.

So in saying that, I doubt it was the intent of the designers to eject the shells randomly through out the inside of the fuselage.

B17

Gun positions ejecting casing within the aircraft
1. Top turret
2. Left and right cheek guns
3. Left and right waist guns
4. Rearward observation window gun (If equipped)

Gun positions ejecting casing out of the aircraft
1. Chin turret
2. Tail turret
3. Ball turret

Any way, that would only be 3 gun positions dropping brass that could effect FPS. That assumes that brass is going to be visable from other aircraft. If it's not, adding brass casing graphics is kind of pointless, as in most planes, the pilot never sees the brass leaving his own guns.
