Wheel Smoke Displays Incorrectly
« on: January 28, 2005, 05:23:24 PM »
I like the new Smoke Effects. So I tried a C47 so I could watch externally.

When I landed, I purposely landed on the right wheel first. But the wheel smoke emitted from the left side where the left wheel would be, and the left wheel was in the air still. Looks like it could be backwards.

I have not tried this on any other plane yet, but am curious to see if others are affected. I will try other planes this evening. And I'll try to post a screenshot.

HiTech -

After doing some offline external viewing of several aircraft, all have this same backwards smoke effect. When one wheel is in contact with the ground, the opposite wheel in the air is the one that shows the smoke effect, and this should be reversed.

Yup, dittos.

Why the smokey wheels on takeoff?  I could see it for a dirt strip, but asphalt?
