AH newbie question:H2H over Internet ?
« on: November 24, 2001, 11:51:00 AM »
Hi all,
I'm new to AH just coming from 5 years playing AirWarrior.
Just to test the game together with my wingy, I would like to do some dogfights with him in H2H mode. Can someone please explain me, how to setup an H2H game ?
Or is it impossible over internet ?

Please choose simple words. I'm just a not-good-english-speaking-german  :)

cu up soon (I hope)   :p

Grandpa.  Click on H2H in AH main screen.  Click on "Creat Host" then pick a map and set players to 2( may choose more if you wish).  Click OK.  Make sure your friend knows what room to go to.  Go to Setup/Arena Settings and click on Kill Shooter.  Click Change.  Uncheck KillShooter so that you and your friend may fight.  Good luck.

Hi Shire,

thanks for your help. We will try it. And this works over internet, when I understand right. So my friend only has to know my IP adress and can join my game ?

They don't have to know your ip because HTC works like the 'switching box' between h2h clients. That enables you to find new players all around the world to your h2h sessions. Pretty cool.

Hello Grandpa

Also AH has an excellent Aces High Help file now ( AHHELP.EXE) that you should download.
You should also get the AHINFO.ZIP which has dot commands for HOST.

Get them here

To create or join H2H I believe you must have an Aces High account.  It doesn't have to be a paying account, but you still need to use ADMIN and CREATE ACCOUNT if you don't already have one.  This might confuse some people: H2H is free, but you still must create an account.  Is this correct?

<S> Grandpa

By the way there is one thing your friend should know.
If he starts his game (gets to the select game clipboard, right side picture) before you have launched your game, he will never see it come up.
Since there is no refresh button, your friend will need to quit and then start again. ((( unless someone knows another way? )))
This is were voice connection come in handy when you are trying to connect your game with a friend, but is not necessary.
