Very good flick, highly recommended. More powerful than I'd imagine it would be. Was good to see a movie without the conventional Hollywood ending.
Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth -- more than ruin -- more even than death.... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. ... Bertrand Russell

Just got back from seeing it, even got my wife to go.  We both agreed it was an excellant movie.  Hillary Swank always does a great job, and Morgan Freeman is one of my favorites.  Clint does a good job too of course, pretty much typical Clint role.

Morgan Freeman Is one of the best actors out there right now.
I don't think he has been in a bad film.

Oh come on, Robin Hood would have been a good film if it didnt have Costner in it.

Freeman was good in it anyway.

Robinhood is comedy gold! Everyone else trying to act and doing a decent job, and there old Kevin is being himself.

Yup, ya summed that up pretty well.  Costner almost always just plays the "quiet, strong, humble plain talking hero" he thinks he is.  Somebody should tell him he isn't,  he is just another Hollyweird male diva.

The only film Costner was palatable in was Open Range. Maybe because Robert Duval was so good it just made Kev look better.

MDB looks to be a lock at the Oscars. Clint doesn't direct many bad films.

Clint directs great films (Space cowboys, and Bridges of Madison county weren't my thing though)...

Costner was good in Now Way Out, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams,Tin Cup, A Perfect world (Clint directed), Thirteen Days and in Dances (although Scorsese should've won best director with Goodfellas)

Morgan Freeman is usually good even in crap films (Chain Reaction, Hard Rain) although I thought he was pretty ordinary in Dreamcatcher

Every movie Costner has ever made would be better without him in it.

open range was very good despite costner.   There are simply some actors that can lessen or ruin any movie...cruise is one cage is another... julia roberts it very much one.

Costner - bland, plays the same thing in most movies.

Cruise - okay actor, but maybe a tad to much ego, and dealing with short guy syndrome.  Owns a P51 so gotta cut him a little slack.

Cage - Again, okay actor, nothing really special. Not particularly good looking, expect he is  a little strange in real life (but aren't we all?).

J Roberts - Can look pretty good, or pretty rough.  Good actor, but not Meryl Streep.

Many actors are overrated.  Some good ones underappreciated.

Robert Duvall - a great actor with charisma all over the place.

I don't know... cage is of the "everything is the end of the world" emotional school of acting...  "No sugar in my coffee!!!"  sweeps everything off desk in a rage and then starts sobbing kinda acting that I really can't stand...  thinks acting depressed means acting.

Basically, you are saying he overacts?

Robin Williams in a surprisingly good actor I think.  Maybe I shouldnt be surprised, he is a very intelligent individual.  You cant be that funny without a very high IQ.
