Ok.....since you brought it up.

As someone who is under the impression he 'speaks the language' perhaps you could clarify what you're talking about here since there is no such thing as a kickstand.

Are you referring to the kick start (which my bike doesnt have - starter motor dontchaknow)?
Or the center stand (which my bike also doesnt have - no need for the extra weight dontchaknow)?
Or the side stand?

Maybe it's just cultural difference, we call em side stands, you call em kick stands.

Wassat?  Oh, sorry, you were merely trying to take the piss and didn't really mean to engage in a conversation about modern bikes?

Ok then.  I'll leave ya to your cool world of cool people in which you're a biker even though you dont ride anymore.

We've a word for people like you in Britain:  Snob.

I'd never even think of trying to spew forth the crap you're coming out with to the kids I teach to ride, they're the bikers of tomorrow and I don't give a crap what they choose to ride.  If I saw even so much as a moped broken down at the side of the road I'd stop to assist and so would most other British bikers, sportsbikers or otherwise.  What other criteria do you have for people to join your little circle of 'friends'?

And to lighten this topic...

I know some "bombers" and I think some of you would be surprised about the "skillz" of those wannabe bikers...  :D

447 is an out of production engine. I would recommend you get a 503 instead. They are very common and the parts are easier to obtain. They are a little more powerful but are also quite light. It is a two stroke and air cooled. You need to overhaul them every 300 hours or so but that is not too expensive as you basically just open them up de coke them and check the bearings.

 Probably looks similar to this............:D

Just look around a little bit, I`m sure you will stumble across it.... I mean with you being a qualilified instructor and all. :D
Ya know I knew this guy that decided he was going to become an instrutor. Probably one of the most haphazard riders I`ve ever known. Couldn`t pour pizz out of a boot with the directions on the bottom. Anyway, he got all certified up, complete with custom walnut frame for the documentation, all the whistle, bells, etc.
He was all set up on a giant parking lot with the cones, etc in place to teach the mere mortals the ins and outs of basic motorcycle operation and safety.
To make a long story short, while doing a demonstration at about 15 mph he hit a small puddle left over from a shower the night before. He lost it and broke his right leg. His "students" carried his no riding *** to the hospital to get a cast. Fricken hilarious. :D

This site has them but it is in French. You can tell by the picture the difference. A 503 has a fan on the back and it starts up to cool the engine when the prop is not turning or when the engine is too hot. The top of the engine is covered in a sheet metal cover to direct the air over the cylinder.Very good light engine comparision website.

Heh These guys would pass Jackal and Lazs driving rear wheel and standing at the saddle at 200kmh...Well maybe not standing at that speed :D
Anyways they are usually driving Japanese bikes (sometime even Buell and British, even Triumph Rocket) and some of bikes are also "pimped"... neon colours, graphics... you know, kinda like cars in 2fast2furious or what was that film...
But You'd be fool if you'd think those guys don't know how to drive or that they would be sissies.
