btw... Has BMW learnt to build turn-light switches yet?

K100RS was a good bike though the 1100RS was heaps better, I had a K100RS for a year and did alot of touring around NZ and Aussie on it, for eating long miles at a fast pace and carrying heaps of gear it was great. Though it was a tad boring to ride compared to my Guzzi and felt abit too computer like. The GS's are totally different and streets ahead of the old K series on or off road. Infact I think it's one of the best performing and handling bikes BMW have ever made.

If you can take one for a test ride, though you'll probably not want to take it back.

Funny I never found the light switches a problem on the K series and always prefered them over anything else.  Especially comapred to Suzuki switches at that time, or the tempremental Italian electrics.

Wow this thread got nasty quick.  Vintage O club I suppose.

But thinking on bikes got me all nostalgic for my old LC.  Here's a pic I googled, not mine but identical. :) .

And here's my favourite view but look at the mileage on that bike.

I didn't like the system where You had to use both thumbs for turning lights (blinkers?); I thought Japanese style left/right and press for release was better (at least for me and my coordination).

Borrowed my friend's Guzzi sometimes and I can agree with Italian electrics; frigging starter get stuck if you kept button pressed for more than 1/100secs... kinda hard to get engine running at the cold autumn morning...
Wonderfull piece of machinery otherwise but they should use electric parts from Bosch :D

Knew you couldn`t hang RUB.
I tell ya what, I`ll keep you in mind around the holidays. Maybe send you and your buds some Rose oil or something to share in the sauna together. I`m just assuming ya`ll do aroma therapy together also. :rofl

Naw, I`lll just ship the stuff, but thanks anyway.
I`m pretty sure seeing as you`re as sensitive' as you are , I`d be afraid I might send ya into a panic attack. Then it would just be more intense "encounter group" sessions in the sauna for ya. :D
Besides that , pink and purple is just not my color. I`m all out of Gucci accessories and i don`t own a Rolex. :D

Yes but it would only bwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa between 6000 and 8500 RPM. Below that it was all ring a ding. You had to ride it fast, (Officer  ) to keep it in the powerband. But I did find it weaved a bit on long curves at about 90.  One of the best bikes of the eighties and the most stolen.  Ask any robber, it was the ideal getaway bike.  Mine did two armed robberies that I'm aware of. (I have an alibi, Officer) and had a new identity stamped on the frame.

I used to get stopped a lot because of the way I rode it. I even dressed like on a robber.  If I stopped outside a Building Society or a Newsagent, you could see the staff looking nervously out the window. Ah happy happy days.  I wonder if I could pick up a decent one somewhere. I thrashed mine to death.

They are still about. Try buying a copy of classic bike guide magazine. Many will need restoration work as they weren't that tough and as you say were soundly ridden ( thrashed ):D they aint that cheap though.

Some posters need to give up bikes and start buying lots of mirrors, they'll get a lot more rush out of it.

Lazs you're blocking and rationalizing all the way.
Either taste is arbitrary, or only one type of bike is acceptable; they're exclusive.
