Tunisia rocks!!!
« on: March 18, 2005, 03:37:45 AM »
Flew CT for the first time in a long time yesterday and omg is Tunisia a sweet setup.

Its a great map and has a good mix of planes.

Flying the P40 vs c205s/G-2s/A5s is alot of fun and the ability to fly the Spit9 makes it more lucrative to more players.

Im definatly gonna fly this setup again.

When will we see it again?

you missed it.  I hope it never returns with the spitV.  the spitV has no place in the CT until HTC corrects it's gamey modelling.

It didnt have spitV in it last night only spit9.

Personally I dont have a problem with spitVs, neither fighting them nor flying them. Personally I actually do better in the spit9 so I really dont see any problem with it but then again I dont know enough about the planes.

Either way tunisa was a great setup that I would love to see soon again.

Always been one of my favorites as well.  Addition of the Jug and Lightening added a new flavor, too.

The Spit 9 is more dangerous than the 5, but the 5 is much moreannoying just like Hurri 2C...

I really enjoyed it too this week.  Wish I could have been there more often.  The D11 was a welcome addition.

Just so you guys know... the P-47 never saw action in Tunisia 43. First action in the the MTO was by the 57th FG in Yugoslavia (3 December 1943). They flew them in to country.  The 325th were the first to recieve them in country. Their first action was December, 14 1943 and they didn't see action till they were in Italy.

well it's always nice to see the Jug it's a shame more don't fly it.  I'm sure that by 1943 there were few spitVs in frontline service as they would have been outclassed by the 109Gs and the Fw190A3s

Storch,

This is not a dig... but the way I look at it.. it's the pilot not the plane. From what I have heard, from a reliable source, that the axis planes were like flying coffins.  It was the pilot that made the plane.  I am sure I will get heat for that statement, just please don't throw a bunch of internet sites saying this or that... it's the internet... don't read to much into it.

This just means that LW are reduced to choosing between b&z tactics or certain death.  B&z gets old fast.

keeps that heart beating :)  i would rather scenarios be realistic than balanced, makes you use some team tactics, which keeps things new and challenging. the real battles were hardly ever balenced, and any tactic was employed to keep you in the air.

if there were some way to see a list of what planes your team is flying so you can choose a plane that balences the formation  , and keeps any one plane from filling up the skies that would be very nice, it does get a little un-nerving when 9 out of 10 players are in spits, and makes the combat a bit stale and un realistic.

Agreed.  Which is why I disagree with you on whether it's better to be balanced or realistic.  As you say, real life was rarely balanced.  What makes a real war doesn't necessarily make a good game.

which I agree with you on both statements... and is THE reason I love flyin in CT...

the planes are given & its a choice from there on... tactics may not be fun although they may be successful... or you can try something else & "see" what happens...

I'm not an old hand or a good stick, but this aspect of AH2 brings me back...

I love tryin to get that A6M5 in the P40 or 51B... also that they're more experienced than I am ... and when I do get them, it's almost better than sex...

spitV ... a6m ... bringum ... I fly til my alarm goes off then its bed time fer me...

Plane Set, Map, Who, Where, What Team, ... doesn't matter ...

CT is the best flyin in AH2...
