My fake grass
« on: April 01, 2005, 11:07:09 PM »
As some may know, I quit my job and am starting a company with two partners. We will be the  Arizona distributor in a certain brand of synthetic grass.

Well, we got some samples of about 20 different types and I took some pics of it today. What do you think of this?

Also, we measured out our first 2 jobs this week, one of which is a 2 million dollar home in the Biltmore area, front and back lawn to be replaced with our product.
A third multi-million dollar home is slated to follow.

Anyway, I'll update you guys and post a some pics of our first job when it's done.

These are  pics I snapped today of some of the samples......putting greens and lawn type grass.

Had me fooled. What's it made out of?

I used to play on a field with the nasty old 70's gen "astro-turf." Man did that stuff give a wicked burn when you slid on it.

Hope yours is more knee, elbow, and face friendly.

Godspeed with your new venture.

It's made of polypropylene yarn. It's very soft...even feels like grass. When installed, it's filled with rubber and silicon sand.

Thanks Seagoon.

We didn't buy a franchise, we are buying the exclusive distributor rights in all of Arizona for this brand.

We are still just getting it rolling and are not actually in business yet, but I will drop you an email and answer any questions  you have about this stuff.

CC Nuke. With Tuff Turf I am looking at the franchise for the market here in Alabama as well as the distributor role.

Sounds good.

Hey, occurs to me you could get spin off business marketing ride-on mowers with the blade removed to keep the neighbors guessing. :aok

That stuff looks good.  Ideal for disabled folks - e.g. my ex still lives in the house and likes the big lawn but can't mow it or look after it - she has to pay to get it cut etc.  This would be ideal.

Good luck Nuke. :aok

Looks exactly like the "grass" at Ford Field here in Detroit (Detroit Lions).

what do you guys do to prevent real grass  or weeds from growing inside the fake one?

ive only seen one type of fake grass in my life and apparently it was such a good copy of the original that grasshoppers and other insects gnawed the grass away... what does your grass have to prevent this?

I just want to know if the fake grass also comes with fake chiggers included or is there a charge for that option?

I think I had an allergy to that fake grass. Well, maybe it was a false allergy, but I went to a fake doctor anyway, and he gave me a counterfeit prescription for some look-a-like pills that I had filled at an imitation drug store. The fake little sneezing stopped, but I started having fake orgasms with my make-believe wife, who was nothing more than a cheap copy of a blow-up doll.

Then I found a knock off of a replica of a water sprinkler that spread fake water over the fake grass and it seemed to help keep the imitation pollen from spreading. But that didn't last long, so I had faux concrete poured over the fake grass and  turned it into a genuine, imitation parking lot.
