I would also like to say a thanks to the AKs and the 56th for their escort of us on Friday Night. You guys kept close and once the LA5s spotted us you kept them off us and occupied while we fought our way to the second target.

Which we damaged more than the first target (first target down to 32% and second down to 10%) and this while under constant attack.

Finally you hung back and covered our escape. Out of 15 formations I think elements of 12 made it home. As far as I can tell we only lost 16 out of 45 JU88s. The rest were banged up quite a bit .. but you guys allowed us to get in and out.

No mean feat considering the distance we had to fly after detected and then had to egress.

us la5's didn't have nearly the ammo load needed to take down 88's. Sweet target approached but we ran out of arrows quick shootin 88's, they be tough. we had 13 la5 in my group but met at least 21 ju88's plus escort. sobullets were at a premium, but I think we did well. you guys also caught us with pants down, as I suspect you planed, half the flight went down to refuel when 88's came in.
