Ok..

"Stren" is a brand of fishing line...hence, "trolling"?

But now I'm confused...

Pyro was kidding about none of the planes we'd talked about being the perk bomber? Or not?

Yes, I was kidding about it being none of the above.

Perk bomber.....only one choice: Ar.234 but the question is which variant?

Pyro, you use Stren? I prefer Spider Wire as my flyline leader but since I'm not one of those Bass-holes I suppose Stren works. BTW, do you like riding around in the floating equivalent of a Pontiac Firebird with radar?

I don't use mono at all any more; just Power Pro or Whiplash, I like the no-stretch :-).

Ah. Well, I stand behind my original guess that it is, in fact, the B-29.

If it is the B29, they'll have to lengthen the runways.  Hell, I can barely get off the ground in a Lancaster and B-17!  About the only option is to take off out to sea and climb very S-L-O-W-L-Y.  My last sortie in a Lanc I ended scraping my belly on a hill north of the base as I was clawing to gain altitude.  Ended up ditching it there and walking back....

Hmmm, now a P-61 would be quite interesting.  No one's ever modeled THAT before though it wasn't really a bomber and not good enough to be a fighter (which is why it did a lot of night fighting duties). Now there's an idea... having a night intercept mission in AH....

SpitLead,
That sounds JUST like my one bomber sortie this tour.  Mr. Lancaster, meet Mr. Hill.  I'll walk back to the base and let you two get to know eachother.

We NEED longer runways.  I'd even go so far as to limit heavy bombers to those airfields with the longer runways.

BTW, given Pyro's admition, I restate my bet on the Ar234.
