but anyway it looks great, simple straight clean panel lines, not too thick... keep up the great work

Thanks. The panel lines aren't as simple as they may seem. In order for me to get the wing root paneling to match up and in scale was a pain. I had to adjust a pixel at a time to get the lines to match up where HTC had their wing root start and the main fuselage begin. The gun door wraps up and stops right at HTCs wing root line.

The canopy area is also an issue. I tried to get the seam highlighted right where the canopy seal and fuselage meet. It seems that the there is some stretching issuses here. If I bring the line down towards the base of the canopy seal it will throw that same line further down on the fuselage. So when it looks like it's dead on I have two lines running down the side somewhat parallel to each other.

This canopy issue also hinders some of the vertical fuselage lines. I have to stop them short of the canopy seal or else they'll wrap onto the canopy frame and be slightly offset to the right.

There is also some stretching issues aft of where the wing stops. The somewhat horizontal line that runs from the trailing edge of the inner wing root towards the empennage will stretch and warp if it's too low. I basically can't put it right on the seam where the end of the wing root stops all the way back to the empennage area.

The forward fuselage has similiar stretching issues. The cowl area has a very fine line that you can't cross without running into stretching. I can't get the upper and lower cowl flaps to be in scale without massive stretching. I'm going to attempt to get the panel line where the cowl doors are opened from the bottom. I doubt it'll be possible though.

The top area and main fuselage are done as far as major panel lines are considered except for the ones I've talked about. All of them have been adjusted as far as they can go so that they meet all seams as best as possible.

lol yeah I've got one, USAF. I spent most of the weekend working on it. I had to add a little color to give it some life and keep me interested. Especially considering I don't fly 190s.

I kind of figured that's what you meant. I figured you'd like to know that I'm not half arsing the template. The one thing that frustrates me the most is having stray lines or lines that just don't match up like they should. People have a tendency to rip out templates and skins that are half arsed because they are in a hurry. They miss simple items, don't bother to line up their seams properly, and don't pay attention to the angles of their lines.
They are more worried about getting the product out quickly than they are about the quality of their product.

Needless to say it's taking some time. I probably won't get to it today because I need to get my uniform ready for work. I will start working on the lower wings tonight when I get home. Once I'm done with that I'll go back and do the upper cowl guns and recheck all my lines. I'll then start the riveting process and fasteners.

Hey Edbert. Well I had to be honest I lost interest in the project. A few others had thrown templates out there pretty quickly so I had figured there was no need for this one.

I will press on and finish it though. Spent too much time getting things right to just throw it away. I'm still a bit frustrated with the wrapping and tearing near the canopy area. I've got a few lines that can't meet the seams they should be able to meet without warping. If I bring the lines back so they won't warp then you can see a huge gap between where the line stops and the canopy seam begins. It basically does this all the way down the canopy line. The most I can do with the canopy is the seam where the canopy and wind screen meet. Anything along the base of the canopy gets stretched.

Thats cool Cobra, don;t worry about it. I have to say that with the 190s being the first revamp to the new format (looks very much like IL2 skins to me though ) it is sad to see they still aint quite right. Oh well, they are far and away better than before so I'm still happy.

Now on to work on Yellow-10 some more, I may do Red-1 too.
