it just happens to be some kind of common "fact" that individual people belonging to any group also tend to represent that particular group when they wear the group insignia. I have always believed that this is the reason why groups (=squadrons) have some rules and codes of conduct.
I have been a squadron CO for over 6 years and have also seen difficult times with some of my pilots. It has been my sad responsibility to look after and investigate such insidents and to possibly carry out some actions as a result. Anyhow, these quarrels or misconducts have ALWAYS been a matter of the whole group as well. If any individual can behave in any which way, it also tells quite a lot about the whole group.. sad, but true.
