Were is the Sherman and Pershing ??
« on: April 30, 2005, 06:57:56 PM »
One thing I like about Aces High is how ground vehicles can play such a important role in the game.  The tank battles are fun but HONESTLY, getting tired of see German tanks, if your lucky you may see some looney taking on a Tiger with a M8 but thats rare.

We have a Russian tank for the Allies but that is the only real threat against the panzers and tigers.. were is the Sherman or M36 Pershing.

YES I know the Sherman was out classed by the Germans tanks but when people think WWI -- US -- Tanks.. "SHERMAN" pops to mind.  It was a staple ground vehicle and used everywere.

To put the US in the game as a real counter to the Tiger and Panzers... BRING on the Pershing.  This tank was more then a match for the Tigers and Panzers.

Bring on some British tanks also.

Anyway,  when is HTC going to bring in some good US tanks..

hummm yes.. hummm when?

Um, flight sim.  Airplanes get priority.  Too many holes and updates need in the set to worry about GV's for now.

Considering AH is a "FLIGHT" combat sim, the tank development is probably a low priority.

There is another online WWII sim (which will be un-named, per the BBS rules) that has tanks.

Pershing shouldnt be in AH for a very very long time. Only about 200 of them save service in the last two months of the war so many other GV should ahve priority.

We do need a Sherman, maybe both a 75mm and 76mm type.

Actually what we reallyneed is a TD...I'd prefer a M-36 or M-18 but even a M-10 would do....of course the achilles (up gunned M-10 with 17pder) would be ideal.

US representation of armor wouldn't be bad.  But at the same token I for one wouldn't use it.  US armor during WW II was thinly armored and under gunned.  Sherman loses were high, the only reason for victories was due to numbers, and production.

Not that familar with the Pershing, anyone got a reference for it??

Pershing was on par with Panther II.  What we need is a fast tank destroyer.  Think M8 with a 90mm cannon.  I would love it!

before they fixed damage model, with an M8 I got a tigers gun out and a tread from 10 ft away, took out his pintle with mine. Then proceeded to ping out SOS on his hull in morse with my .30cal for 10 min, til a freindly popped him with a point blank shot in the arse.

Thanks for the input,  you are right this is a FLIGHT SIM .. HOWEVER.. we do need a better US tank in the game or the British Firefly.

Sherman for the Americans (I would rather see a M18), Churchhill for the Brits, and Chi Ha for the Japanese.
