My opinion as well, but then those hundreds of former customers who no longer subscribe would come in here and post the drivel. Kind of a no-win if you ask me.

I agree Westy, pull the plug on the O’Club what a waste of time for HTC employees to have to moderate that.

I asked pyro this at the con last year. What does HTC spend the most time on that produces the least amount of revenue? I told him I though it was some of the forums on this BB. Don’t know if he agreed with me or not. The clock is ticking on the AHII engine. How long will it last before they have to build a totally new engine? Since their time is finite they need to be as productive as possible. If we can free up their time by moderating some of the forums it is a win win situation.

ijits!

It's not about the game! It's about the community! This game could suck AND blow and it wouldn't matter a whit if the communirty were there for comradery and good times. Air Warrior was outdated beyond repair, but the people still came and paid up. Because of the community. Most of us don't really care if the P-47 is the right color inside the wheel wells, or if the La7 is overmodeled by 3 mph at 4.9k. We just wanna know the guy we just blew outta the sky so we can rag on him latter on.

they used to pump your gas for you, take your groceries to the car and carry your bags to your room at motels.

then they said...hey, lets save money and resources and pass the savings to the consumer.

never really happened.

the community is part of what i pay for...were it to disappear, i would reevaluate the value of my investment while considering the reason for the change.

but i would prefer that we do it how we do it best..we all pitch in and help out where we can.

dont start flames with people you dont know.  those of us who have been there for awhile know how far we can take it and are usually good spirited.

were i to have the skuzzy button
i'd assign a vetran or a group of vets to moderate.  a balanced spectrum of a few.  they could even have shades for the job.

i'm sure that there are many who would be happy to wield the skuzzinator when needed and could be trusted to do so with fairness and aplomb.

I have to chuckle.  IF OT were to go away and the rest of the forums where past and present players talk about AH and WWII aviation remained some of you would feel seriously slighted and would leave?

Skuzzy!!   Where is your damn bribe link!!??   ;)

I disagree Midnight Target.  OT is not the AH community. Most there haven't played AH in a very long time and it has become a small but foul community of it's own that could careless about AH.  OT is a veritable suppository (no spelling error) of mainly dysfunctional personalities attacking and arguing over religious beliefs, political convictions or about where they live on this planet.  The very few decent topics are buried under a mountain of political  & religious garbage with an unhealthy smattering of personal attacks thrown in.

IMO I still beleive there is nothing for HTC to gain by supporting the OT "community."

and how do we in the community gain by the alignment of your perception?

were those words not inflammatory?

are you not in fact making swathish assumptions and arguing a topic yourself here?

how is your topic more important than religion or politics or current events?

are these things that we should just forget about or is it something else that is really a concern here?

should a community conform to what YOU percieve as important or can we agree that a better rule is "to each his own" and find a way to make it work more efficiently without scrapping the place that others might enjoy.

how do you personally contribute to the O club in a constructive manner to deter this type of behavior?

O-club means officers club.

we should behave like officers yes.

should we bury it?

nope.  that's a big negative.

but you've definately got some pretty good bait there sargeant.

dismissed.

Well to be fair Westy, take away the "dive bombing buffs suk", "killshooter sucks", "I quit", "Look, I'm the first to post there is New News!" etc., The General Discussion still is worth reading, can't say the OC is any different.  And just for fun, now count how many locked threads are in each forum say 3 pages deep. And I still play btw.

... how about just rename the "O Club" to something like, "Fisherman's Wharf?"
