OK so the issue is how to get folks into the CT and still retain some sort of historical flavor.
So how bout this.
1-Beg, plead, bribe, whatever, HT and company to have an announcement open when folks enter the MA stating what the CT set up is.
2-Be prepared to sell your souls for a bit to build a player base. Gotta hook em before you can start to get them interested in something besides the late war birds that go zoom!
3-Build a map that caters to late war, whether it be Russian front or ETO. late war LW vs late war Allied. No costs for things like Tempests, Spit XIVs TA152s etc. Let the uber dweebs have at it and hopefully the vets will teach em a bit at the same time. Hopefully as folks get comfortable with the surroundings, they'll come back more. Then you start introducing other historical set ups that might not be all uber. If folks have gotten to know each other and are used to the idea of the CT they might just stick a bit longer.
4-Advertise and educate As they enter CT a screen explains what it's about, the set up etc like now. Also point em to the board here possibly. Find away to get their input if possible.
5-Whatever happens the vets have to not lead the complaining about flight models, set ups etc. Newbies follow the lead of the vets. if the vets cry the newbs will too.
It's gonna take some effort and folks grinning through forced smiles, but somehow, if it's to make it the CT needs new blood
