ok  im working over a gateway to pass on to a young Girl .. its a
pent 2 400 mhz  370 socket
128mbs ram
6.5 gig

what i need to know if there is any better video drivers and which ones work

what it has is a onboard 8mb ATI Rage 128 VR    built in and i wonder if the regular rage drivers work  i didnt find any specific ones for the VR  just the 4.12 /4.13's for the rage 128 ..

Anyone have experiance with this one ???

if not ill just do the trial and error thing.
(hate to mess up a sweet format though)

Roscoroo

I've "rebuilt" a few gateways in the last couple of years. For drivers my best luck was always going back to the original gateway site. Should be able to type in model # for the case & download the various drivers you need. Video, sound etc.

For most add on cards I'd say you could probably find a better driver out on the net. But for video on the motherboard I think you'd do best sticking with gateways original drivers if you can find them.

yea thats what i did right after i formated it ..
The gateway support site Always Rocks
its always nice just to enter the number and get everything i need in one pass .

Well it looks like i ended up w/ 4.12 cats or something like that for the onboard rage .

it stress tested good . the only problem is a moving wav across the screen in 32bit 800x600  60 hz  ,  1024x768 it goes away

i thought it was at 85 hz befor i formated .
perhaps i need a monitor driver .
