ya, thanks on the saitek.

I had one way back in mid 90's great hardware, great programming, but it was buggier than a Florida swamp. Never could get it to work right, the manual ommitted things and tech support and i became freinds on a first name basis.

I saw that setup in best buy the other day, only like $70, and then a $20 rebate, but then as I told you above.

Someone told me they have come a long way since.... back then they had no patches posted for around or over a year.

LOL, I was so frustrated with the product, I emailed the president of CH and pleaded with him to buy the company, fix service and programming issues and incorporate the awesome hardware / peripherial devices, (better design than CH).

Anyway if you tell me they are now trouble free, I will see if he wants to spend the $70, I had actually mentioned that option to him, but gave him the cons.

Regards,
mjg

PS> one other thing, he needs an external USB, as both of his are in use, one is the mic the other the printer. Is there such and animal, with say an additional 2 or three ports, does it plug into a serial port or usb?

Would the Saitek setup run on it without probs, (or the printer or Microphone) and BIG ONE, would his rudder pedals still work in the game card independently of the Saitek setup? i.e. would all three rudders, throttle, and stick work or could the CH Pro Pedals be run into the saitek setup being analog? This is another issue I did not think of.

As I recall, the Siatek setup has hand rudder levers, built into the throttle, but my dad does not think he would like that…. This is why I ask…. They did not bother me once I got used to them.

To make the analog pedals work with the Saitek combo, you have to do one of two things.  Try the analog to USB converter, I believe someone said they had success with this.  I'm not sure.  The way I do know of that works is simply to unhook the CH throttle, but leave the stick attatched to the rudder pedals, and plug that into your gameport.  Hook up your USB Saitek equipment separately.  You will have TWO joysticks in the Windows control panel, and in your AH control panels.  You will have to calibrate both in Windows, then go into AH.  Using the Joystick Selection routine I outlined above, choose the Saitek stick for the X and Y axes, and the Throttle for the Z Rotation axis, as well as any hat switches.  Select the Rudder and choose the CH joystick, and Z axis.  Calibrate everhthing in AH.  The Saitek stick's "twist" function now wont do anything, but the rudder pedals should still work.  Just set the CH joystick off to the side out of the way somewhere, or even under the desk to keep from getting confused.  It's only purpose is to make the rudder pedals work.
