Dual Boot

This is not the place but here goes. I was going to try Linux on my old game machine. Theres a lot of stuff about dual booting. I would have thought tou just install Linux on a second drive and switch the boot order in BIOS depending on which OS you want to use??

These boot loaders seem to cause problems.

I used to dual boot with number of different Linux distros - never had problems...

When you install be sure that installer recognize your Windows... then it adds boot menu to loader wether it GRUB or LILO...

Go for it... be backup your important data anyway...

It is not worth the effort to switch your bios settings each time...

The all distributions I have used (Fedora Core 3, Knoppix install, Debian Woody and Sarge) recognized my windows and allowed dual boot without any problems...

Today it is really easy... and usually do not cause problems...
