New Bug
« on: June 17, 2005, 03:44:56 AM »
Was flying with combat trim on, auto level.  My plane would go full left rudder.  When flying with (x) auto lvl, and c/t on, I was doing gentle flat left hand turns, and you can see it go full rudder.  Turn auto level off, and it fly's straight.  A/L on, it full left rudders.

odd.

Odd Bug film

also, about 4 times this week I was spontaniously sent to the desktop, and AH minimized.  At the time I thought it was me hitting a key, or just didn't give it much thought until another player or two mentioned it yest.  I have been flying in a fight, takin' off, and unfor. can't reproduce it.  Just a FYI.

Run spyware checks like AdAware and SpyBot S&D. Spyware may be asking for extra CPU time and causing fullscreen games to minimize. Open up the Task Manager and look at your Network useage with all windows closed. If it has anything above 0%, something is running that you don't want. Automatic updates should be off in both the A/U settings and in Services. (My Computer[Right click]>Manage>Services and Applications>Services). Since I'm on a roll here, also use a Registry Cleaner. It'll make your computer boot so fast you won't catch up to it.

done already.

ran spybot, spykiller, adaware, and spysweeper.  (one or two just doesn't cut it)

ran two diff reg cleaners.

no other running task but what is supposed to be there.  (win98SE btw)

pretty clean system if I do say so myself.

BUT I thought as you did, and after finding no spyware (I don't do pron) I was curious if it could be a bug.  Odd to find several others having the same issue.  BUT it could be my end, as I am unable to reproduce this bug.

STILL can't explaine the auto level, full left rudder thing tho'.  THAT one's bizarre.

Depending on the arena, there could have been wind. I came on here crying about how the new P38s took off sideways and then found out someone had turned the TA's wind on.

The auto-minimizing is almost always related to an errant program running in background, such as spyware or malware.  However, there could be other background programs which could induce the same thing.

Oh I agree completly, why THAT was added to the REAL bug as an afterthought.

Did you by chance get to view the film?  THAT was the bizarro bug.  Full left rudder when you hit X (auto lvl)?? quite odd.  Flew some today, and all is normal.  Hmmmm....

JUST figured out the AH minimize bug/thingy.

I was hitting alt / escape.  I would be cyclin' thru friendly plane icons (Alt i) and hitting escape to bring up map/close it.

Just figured it out this morning.

Didn't know that alt/escape would min. a proggy.

odd

Alt-Esc cycles through the running programs w/out bringing up the little dialog box like Alt-TAB does. If only one program is running it brings the desktop into the foreground. this is why your desktop came up and AH was minimized. It also will not maximise a minumized program. Not sure to what point this was implemented for but someone at MS thought it was a good idea.

I'd sure like to meet these guys a MS who come up with these so-called "good" ideas. I have a club with their name on it.
