was following behind a pu with trailer full of watermelon last Sat morning, obviously someone moving. guy hits those steel plates layed down at road construction site and his 50+ inch tv and a 25-29 inch plasma tv bounced off the big pile of stuff in the trailor onto the road along with his PC box! and a couple boxes with kitchen stuff and food in them and some ugly tree lamp, he stops and runs back .. (i'm stuck to find away around all the mess because the construction had the road narrowed) , he kicks the bigscreen tv off the road , jumps in anger on top of his demolished plasma tv couple times and tosses it into the dirt, looks at the pc box that just did like 20 flips on the pavement with tan plastic parts flying everywhere and leaves it on whats left of the shoulder, he then takes off pissed as hell. I stop and check out the poor pc box thats near bent in half .... what survived and will be installing into my buddies comp this sat.. 3.2gh intel hyperthreading chip, 1 gig of 3200 'ultimate gamer' ram .. dont know who makes that.., WD velocity HD, intel pro100 lan board.
What "died" in the wreck, intel 865MB, x800agp card !, 56k modem?, powered usb board, case, 450w power supply, some stupid led strip lights and the case fan, which i was expecting to be the only thing that would have a chance of surviving a 60mph tumble, cd burner(trays busted),floppy drive(dented),one 250m hard drive runs noisy.
this is the 2nd comp i've acquired roadside thats had up to date and usable parts , once i also left home to buy a new vacuum since mine was eating the rubber belt every month and found a Oreck vacuum and a mop bucket along the road,, the Oreck i've been using now since 1994 or so and still works great! the mop bucket i tossed...i hate mopping.
