Setting up and using CH, stick and throttle
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:28:38 AM »
Hi Guys,

Need a bit of imput here, just lashed out and bought the ch stick, and throttles. Now Im bashing my head against stick map programme.

I cant seem to get it to load into AH or for it to be recognised as 1 controller in XP?

Any ideas?

thanks

You need to install the CH Control Manager and (if you want) configure it as 1 device. The wizard will help you do this. Then AH will recognize it as 1 big controller. You will need to assign the axis to the right places in AH and assign the buttons.

After you install Control Manager read throught the help file. It is pretty good and will give you an understanding of how you can program the controls. I.E. Key mapping and such.

you can also use them as individual devices without Control Manager.  I have stick, throttle and pedals set up with no problems and no Control Manager.

I'd do it in AH2. You may need to "set all buttons" so the game sees them. Also, check and make sure the corner views are working. If not you can set those also.

The path to set all buttons is:
esc/setyp/controls/josystick/select joystick.

Look at the center column. It will show your joystick there and under the center column. Are two the two buttons you need to click to activate all the buttons.

When done there, go down one line on the list under the map to:
Stick mapping and you can do the rest of the setup there.

You may also need to make adjustments that you like under settings. No matter what changes you make I'd suggest you finish by calibrating the stick. Make sure you move all controls, including throttle and rudders to their full throws during calibration (besides the stick).

If you want more individualized help I can meet you in the TA and get you setup.

Hope this helps.
