I have the eclipse custom II in .45 acp   Bout  $1000-1100 out the door.

It is stainless steel but blackened and has tritium glow in the dark night sights that are melted and fixed.

I have shot about 10,000 rounds through the gun and it is totally reliable.  Extremely accurate at short range (out to 100 yards) mild recoil and I ran into about 12,000 once fired cases so it is cheap for me to reload  bout $4 a box. for 230 clrn at about 850 fps  It will shoot into 1" or so at 25 yards when I am at my very best.  

Everyone who shoots it really loves it.   It is one of my favorites next to my 44's for shooting and it is my nightstand gun and traveling gun most of the time.

The gun feels and looks like quality... OOOOH an AWWW is the typical reaction when people handle it.   Nothing rattles and it is an extremely tight gun that simply exudes quality and pride of ownership.

This last is a subjective thing and may not be important if you like plastic guns say but... for me, it is a big part of firearms ownership.

Diehard Glockies would say that their idea of an $1100 dollar .45 handgun is a used Volkswagen with a tupperware Glock 30 in the glove box ...;)

Glock is just fine. Bullets go in at one end, and alot faster at the other. If you are in the way you are screwed. Sounds good enough for me.

Back on topic..

What is a Kimber (i get it, its a gun), but what does it look like? and why so expencive?

Essentially Kimber  is a firearms manufacturer.  They make some of the most popular 1911 frame handguns.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry II .40 cal, and I have to say I'm disapointed in the gun. I've heard positive things about them.  As I think it's a flaw with mine as it constiantly jams. The range I go to tells me I need to put more rounds though it. But at this point I have to disagree. My Colt didn't ever jam.. So I think in a few more months if it doesn't get better I'm going back to a Colt.

I have shot ultra carry's in .45 and they were flawless..   the owners didn't even know what a jam was.

If I had a Kimber that jammed... I would be telling Kimber all about it.   I would either get the gun in the guiuness book of records as "Kimber that jammed" or get Kimber to buy it back for triple what I paid for it in order to do an autopsy on it.

Wow. I own a USP .45 and support Glocks, but really, if I go 1911, it's be Les Baer or Wilson Combat.
