Ever so often I like to look at new skins, generally mess around and such with AH in offline mode.  I haven't done this in a few weeks until today.  I went in and the game runs like 5 times faster than normal.  Things move so fast you can't even keep up!  Anyone have any idea what causes this and if there is a way to fix it???

this happened to me twice in h2h, i could zoom across the map in no time flat, it had something to do with a certain host, i logged on twice and it did the same thing, then went to another server and it was gone.

I posted this bug about 1 month ago. Not much more I can do.
Try this. After the game loads, exit the game completely. Restart the game and it should be fine.

Again - I posted this bug 1 month ago.

Well now that I look at it, it was like 2 months ago.

I tried this, didn't work for me....  Restarted game maybe five times, still runs in fast-forward mode.

Hmm- if you exited completely , I dunno. On my system it only does it the first time it loads. After that I exit the entire game, and its fine after restarting.

Maybe try changing texture preloading to see if it make a diff.

I really think this bug is related to preloading textures. I think a buffer is over run and some wrong number is getting plugged into another variable that controls the speed of the game. Try it without pre loading anything.

Thats the ticket BTW - I disabled the preload textures and now it works fine!  Thanks for the help.

np - but that should give HT an idea where to look. I think when textures are preloading a buffer is over running and currupting the data segment of the program (if they still have data segments :))
