Stuck mouse and landing gear problem?
« on: July 25, 2005, 10:44:37 AM »
I am an oldie from the AW days and am happy to find this game community, can't wait to get totally up and running.

Problem: I am experiencing a sticking mouse after launching from the hanger and then most of the time I can't get the landing gear down after the autopilot raises it up.  I just installed a new Radeon 9550 video card with onboard 256 of memory and my system has 256mb of ram.  I think my problem may be my small amount of system memory but not sure.  I will be upgrading to 1 gig soon but am shopping brands.  Am I on the right track?
Also, for vehicles how do you move from the driver to the gunner position?
Thanks

You definitely want more RAM.  256 is barely enough for Windows XP to run, let alone play games with lots of textures to swap back and forth.

The mouse problem may be a controller conflict in AH.  Check to see that your joystick and related equipment is setup as your controller for the various functions, not the mouse.

Moving to gunner positions, use the number keys above your keyboard.  1 is driver, 2 through (i think 7 is the highest number any vehicle uses, that would be the PT boat) are the gunner positions.

And from one former AW'er to another, welcome.  :)

Thanks for the input.  I bought 2 gigs of Corsair Twinx2048-3200C2 and it made a hugh difference!  Now if I can just get me account straight so I can login online.

Heh, 2GB is probably overkill.  Still, you wont have any worries about running the well dry!  :)

If you are having trouble with your account, try calling the office?  They can sort things out for you and get you flying.
