Open source?

Oh yeah, that would be k3w1 d00d.  Then I could, like, make my Spitfire climb 50,000ft per minute.

That'd rock.

No, Open Source does not belong in a game like AH.  Its fine for an offline sim where you are the only participant and can tweak it to fit your image of history and aircraft performance, but look at the arguments we already have about flight models here.

Well I didnt quite mean 50k per min flight models.
check out how TargetWare is going to impliment it.
Even brand "W" is doing it to a point.
There are alot of talented people out there
and I know some very good designs would get submitted.

I get the distinct impression brand "W" is doing it out of desperation....

The restive masses had to be given a paint program to divert attention from the non-existence of WB3.

Skins are one thing...
Now, when you start talking FMs in a MMOG....

Good lord, even with centralized vetting, the BBS flamewars will be beyond human comprehension.

People will be asking why Joe's FM for Plane X was approved, and not my clearly superior one. Different aircraft will have far different basic assumptions. Inconsistency across AC.

What a mess.

Tac, you can get it at dogfighter's CFS2 boards. What I want to know is why you were doing that in the daytime (Probably to just get good pics, so people could get a good look at it!   ). Now I have to un-install Janes WW2F (Which I had just re-installed to try out their desert terrain..very cool, and the Dora add on). Then I can re-install CFS2 to fly the widow (Yes!!) and the He-177!
BTW, you can also fly the S-27 (The soviet forward swept wing demonstrator) in CFS2. Anyone remember the movie Countdown?

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing!

When HiTech and Pyro finally bless us with this black beauty I will be flying it, night or no night.

And I think there are a few other Widow enthusiasts out there who'll be flyin'er as well.

Now I have to go download that beautiful kite and reinstall CFS2.

Won't matter if night or not. With the icons we'd see you everywhere you went. It's like painting a F-117 silver and flying over a searchlight factory.

Bring it to AH, would love to fly it - love twin-engined fighters of most kinds, and this one in particular.

Cheers

Here is another:
a P-40B Russian bird

Same shot, but retouched from original to look aged

The graphics in this game are awesome, and there is a web site that does what is called 1%, this means the .air file for the plane is within one percent of actual plane spec numbers, for the hardcore realism folks.

brand W is not doing "open source" (cannot screw with FM) all ya can do is paint yer friggin plane.  NO sims to my knowledge are making it possable to do ANYTHING with the FM, my little closed minded fishies.
