Yep, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a saavy political move on his part. Personally, I think running diesels off vegetable oil is great, sure wish there was a process that made it energy viable instead of just moving pollution elsewhere.
Hmm, conversation point... let's say that the energy needed for the conversion is provided by nuclear, hydro-electric, solar, wind, or other non-polluting methods. Even if it costs more 'energy' to turn the veggie matter into go-juice then you get out of it, you can still realize a drop in dependance on foreign oil without the expense of converting your entire automotive fleet to electric or whatnot.
