During my years of playing, there's been a number of berevity codes i've come across. There's as many different ones as there are squads, but there are some codes which generally are used by all. I'm glad to see Pyro trying to get some standard for us to use in here, but I fear they may be a bit hard to beat into the masses. The beatings will continue until all comply  :D

In any case, here's a set i've come across, compliments of the 56th - I can't recall where we stole this from. If you have more success beating it into your squad then I have with mine, let me know your secrete. Thank God for VOX.... when it works   :p

In Flight Communications:

Terminology Definitions:
  - Designated Flight Leader.  Normally by Duty Roster, but may
                  coordinate before engaged to determine.

      - Second Pilot in Flight.

 - Designated by Flight Leader when choosing tactic / technique
                  to use, and may switch during the engagement depending on
                  tactic / technique.

- Designated by Flight Leader when choosing tactic / technique
                  to use, and may switch during the engagement depending on
                  tactic / technique.

Formation - The Flight Leader will (read that strongly advised) designate a
formation after launch.  When not engaged, the Wingman will attempt to fly
this formation until ordered into a different formation, or into a tactic /
technique. The formation to be assumed by the wingman is frl.

The wingman will always fly slightly behind the Flight Leader at the designated
position and range (r, ro, o, lo, l, lh, h, rh, -).

The following are commands to be used (on private channel) between:
    1) Flight Leader and Flight Element,

    3) Section Leaders in a Squadron

    F    = Form Up on my wing.
    G    = Guns Only
    H    = Higher altitude.
    I    = Independent action
    J    = Jettison ordnance
    L    = Left
    KMA  = Cannot Comply (Kiss My Ass)
    M    = Maneuvering
    M?   = Where Are You? (What is your MAP position)
    N    = bliNd to tally
    O    = lOwer altitude.
    OFF  = Break Off attack
    P    = Planned action
    Q    = Quit
    R    = Right
    rtb  = Return to Base
    S    = Stripped.  Have been engaged by the enemy.
    T    = Tally

I hope you really don't include this term. It sounds so pathetic and ignorant like the user has no knowledge of aircraft. I hope it dies out.

What will be next .. calling a base a  "ba ba"?

AFAIK no one said:

Furball - a relatively large number of fighters in a the same area dogfighting

Fig or Figgie - short for fighter

"kill troops" - strat (or destroy) the barracks at an enemy field

manned ack - a player-manned anti-aircraft field gun

belly land -  the art (which is now harder since the new version) of landing your plane without the gear down

DT - drop tank

folgers - running at war emergency power (WEP)

Max cruise - the speed at which your plane is most fuel efficient

Toolshedder - a sometimes derogatory term for people/squads in AH who actually try to win maps by destroying and capturing targets of opportunity of their enemies, instead of just furballing or dogfighting

262 - the model number of the jet-powered messerschmitt Me-262 (if someone says these are in the area, watch out)

dead stick - the state of being unfortunately useless in your plane because of inflicted damage or something

pilot wound - when your virtual pilot is wounded and blacks out while in flight (or sometimes dies)

Crims, the point was that my squad is lucky if we say 5 of those terms, hehe.
We're normally cussin each other out for not covering each other's back and getting the whole squad killed. Either that or we're talking bout big jugs  :D

"spitcopter" - nickname for spitv with 16+ boost

"supercalifragelisticexpiladio cious" - a common expression given by those shot down by a spitv or la7, or maybe it's just them pounding on the keyboard in frustration. :)
