Hi All,

I hope you won't mind if I generate a thread for news and updates that will probably only interest the evangelicals on the BB. I'm doing this to avoid making each individual update into a raging debate or to needlessly irritate anyone.

Hi Guys,

Thought some of you might be interested in the following. Last week we had a  guest preacher for the morning and evening services - my old friend Pastor Kevin Smith.

Kevin is one of the (regretably) few Black Pastors in my denomination. I asked him to come and speak about a topic that is dear to my heart - the power of the gospel to reconcile the races. This is an issue that is also particularly urgent because here in Fayetteville, there is a strict and supposedly unassailable division between black churches and white churches, and I would really like to break that particular middle wall down. At present I have several brothers in Christ who come for our bible study and special events, but who will not come to the church with their family because they fear the consequences of going to a "white" church. Kevin was able to talk with some of them, and I'm hoping this will bear good fruit.

Anyway, here is the morning sermon: The Power to Reconcile

great topic Seagoon.  I sent ya an Email a while back about somehting that was a little too much for this board.  It'd be cool to have a thread for us to chat about stuff with out having the "debate"

Im not really religious but when im ever in the states i surely would like to visit a black church.
