War has a problem with the human pshycy. When you fight an enemy long enough, no matter that you are moraly right, you and your enemy devolve into equaly brutal savages. Given enough time, the war and violence becomes it's own reason to keep fighting.

Only if you can perfom a one time super superior action which completley defeats your foe do you escape becomeing indistigueshable from your foe. But then you become a superior killer of mankind raising the bar as the price of playing war for future enemies. Dropping nukes on Japan, then the cold war is a living example.

Now the War on terror. Terrorists......terrorism.... Israel has morally devolved to walking a very gray line in the name of survival due to the length of their war with Islam. To many in the world they have already become indistigueshable from thier enemies. And now the West may have to walk the same path downwards in the name of survival.

Being the very clever and innovative western culture we are, we will invent very superior killing machines that will eventually detect and destroy all of the terrorists everywhere on this planet with the push of a button. We will become more terrifiying than the terrorists because the machines will effectivly be invisible, silent, 100% accurate, and have no soul or compassion.

And in the end those machines and thier technology will be in the hands of the elite few all over the planet. We as a species will still be nasty little children addicted to our baser nature. These machines that will save us from the terroists will help us take another thousand steps backwards from growing up as a species.

"These words were not meant only for the Yangs, but for the Kohms as well. They must apply to everyone, or they mean nothing. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

"I do not fully understand, one called Kirk..."

I saw that episode of Star Trek too!  :D

Screw Star Trek and your attempting to associate what I just said with it. I had forgotten that episod ever existed. After about 50 years the human condition and it's nature becomes rather obvious and boreing in it's repition of viscious childishness like the anonymous luxury of this BB at times.

When it comes to the business of killing your neighbor over something meaningless, the farther removed from the end product, the simpler it is to push the button.

If you had to stand nose to nose with every person you belittel and insult on this BB while you verbalise your condesention, you would quickly begin practicing deplomacy out of practical necessity.

Until we monkey boys evolve past our infatuation with our cultural hormones, we need to have the results of our stupidities splashed across our faces everytime we pull the trigger. We haven't grown up enough that we can allow a generation to skip these practical lesssons in what life costs to loose it.

What ever the human race becomes it will become. It is the same as when parents raise children and around about 18-21 they leave home. You cannot stop them from evolving into their own person good or bad. The best we as a society can pray for is the parent spent 18-21 years constantly trying to pass on what they learned from the past. Then hope the child now as a young agressive growing individual takes those lessons and improves on them with their own experiences.

The human condition is a constant repetitive process.  We don't have a genetic memory of our past speices successes and failures. Each human has to repeat the learning process as a brand new blank slate. We have a repetitive tendancy due to our emotional condition to act out the definition of insanty. Too many of us in every generation have to perform the exact same previously failed actions to learn in the first person they don't work.

If no one in every generation made the kinds of observations you are questioning that I have just made, we would well be on the path to extinction by emotional stupidity. We all thought our parents were pain in the arses and full of themselves while they bored us with thier vast buckets of wisdom in the face of our obvious superior youth and ego. But there was/is for humans no other way to pass on the lessons of humanity. Nobody goes to library, reads everything and stops making all of the pasts mistakes from that point on.

I'm all for having the meanest army in creation to kill the bad guys and break their toys. But the question I'm asking and attempting to help you ask your selves:

"What is this doing for the human races ability to grow into something far greater than super human killers"?

All any of us can do is live this life, today.

We can all hope that our progeny are smarter than we are, learn from our mistakes and apply the correct windage to the plotted path humanity must take.

And so we go; one step at a time.

The next step is mechanized push button war. Us or Them..  it's gonna happen. The only choice right now is just that.

Us... or Them.

Choose wisely.
The price of Freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, any time and with utter recklessness...

...at home, or abroad.
