Actually I think of Dowd as a left wing Ann Coulter, but unlike Coulter's last few years of bile, I'd have to say this piece actually had some points to it--her first points in years.

You might address the whole "we need our rest" lord of the manor mentality that is kind of obvious with these Connecticut preppies though and which is a valid point.  I mean, Bush doesn't have to talk to Sheehan, for example, but prancing around waiting to ride with Lance Armstrong while petulantly whining that he needs his rest made him look entirely unworthy to be a leader.

That whole angry fuss about how hitting his tee shot was more important than the US President being accountable, that's actually scary.

I mean, the way some people were raised, asking the president questions during a round of golf!

Someone get his highness a flightsuit and a binky please? It's nap time.

Isnt that what we all want?

Facts?  the facts are the president is on vacation wooptie doo

What exactly is the issue, I lost it in her silly repeat of the latest liberal talking points about this presidents vacation

Hey at least you admitted you posted an article from a writer so "out there" you couldn't bring yourself to include her name. :)

You must be an American Citizen to Vote.

If you are elligable and choose not to Vote then don't complain about who was elected. If your candidate is not elected that means that the majority of our society disagreed with your choice. Thats called a democracy.

I strongly feel that the president NEEDs & deserves a vacation. Try to imagine you own personal life with "zero" privacy and or downtime.

Kudos Jackal1. You summed it up

What does this mother expect to accomplish? If she would come and see me I could tell her exactly what the President probably would.    Sorry for your loss, Thanks for your son's service.

I think she needs to redirect her energy toward a more productive cause. Maybe some type of support for the troops still there.

Last point.  If we decided not to continue our efforts toward disolving certain terroist activities would she, and obviously some of the other liberals posting to this thread be willing to pick up arms and protect our freedom when these "terrorist" come knocking at there door.

Have we lost all of our patriotism???????

Yes I would pick up arms if they were knocking at my door. But I wouldn't go over there and stir them all up. Thats not defence thats provocation.

I could if I could find anything relevant other than he (bush) is on vacation.  The entire article is the opinion of a twit who once wrote about "presidential Knee pads"

Carry on

They have allready done that ? Remember?
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

If he's on vacation and needs his beauty sleep, why doeshis office and he always protest that these are working vacations, and he is always doing something?

Also, why is he raising money on vacation?  So he has time to be a consummate political animal, but not the president?

That's laughable.

Anything amiss in these statements? I see them as pretty damn close to the truth.

Close but no cigar, again it looks like a rant by a twit who should be writing for the Nation.

WASHINGTON - For the second time since the Iraq war began, the Pentagon is replacing body armor for U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

She kinda makes it sound like the soldiers are sitting ducks because they have no armor doesn't she?

Gone are the days when the FREs and extremists in Mosul chased police from their stations and ravaged entire neighborhoods at will. Today, the ISF kills and captures enemy every day in Mosul, something that seldom makes news.

get back to me when the constitution is finished will ya? Oh nice touch with the *****es don't you think it adds an air of unbiased professionalism?

<< and as Iraq hurtles toward a possible civil war, W. seems far more oblivious than his father was with his Persian Gulf crisis.

Unsubstantiated rant, while the chance for a civil war is there the term "hurtles" seems inappropriate.

says who? Maureen the woman who has never been to Iraq?

Well there it is in a nutshell. You definately speak the right talking points to a t.

You are the minority in this country right now including the congress which is a majority republican. Most believe this adventure is a clusterF***.

The Army has admitted to being slow on getting proper equipment to the troops. " We go with the Army we have" :(

The insurgency has killed more and more people each month yet you still talk as if everything is going as planned. Remember , " The insurgency is in its death throes" ?

And we cant get out. Nor should we in my opinion and most Americans.
I and many were saying we needed more troops but you and most righties along with this admin said no we didnt. You and the admin were wrong.

But Im waiting for its all Clintons fault.:)

>Well there it is in a nutshell. You definately speak the right >talking points to a t.

Your the one who posted a rant about a vacationing president.  Jump on that band wagon but please don't act like its an original idea. This crap is right from the leftie blogs web sites and the NYT.

>You are the minority in this country right now including the >congress which is a majority republican. Most believe this >adventure is a clusterF***.

where did this crap come from, did you add it to try and ignore the facts ?

>The Army has admitted to being slow on getting proper >equipment to the troops. " We go with the Army we have" :(

Now I am positive you can read, what part of the 2nd upgrade did you miss?

>The insurgency has killed more and more people each month yet >you still talk as if everything is going as planned. Remember , " >The insurgency is in its death throes" ?

Your attempt at putting words in my mouth are not cutting it but I have come to expect that from left wing radicals :)

>I and many were saying we needed more troops but you and >most righties along with this admin said no we didn't. You and >the admin were wrong.

When have I mentioned troop levels? Dowd rants and the lefties fall in line, good show !

>But Im waiting for its all Clintons fault.:)

Screw clinton, that's your smoke screen not mine.

In conclusion, like I said in the begining Dowd is a twit.

It comes from the news. Where else?

>>YOu said "Tuesday, August 16, 2005 :Michael Yon

So what news are you watching? The insurgency is killing more people than before. Are you actually saying that missing the 2nd grade is going to change that fact?

<>>

I have not put any words in your mouth. I was dealing with her points. Something you seem to be unable to do as it would be admitting how badly Iraq is going.

You have slammed me when I mentioned it in the past my friend.

YOu didnt mention it this time as you didnt discuss the points in the article. I did.

So we will agree to disagree. We see things 180 from eachother.:)

History will tell...

Oh come on now. That is the rights smoke screen. :)
