I'm liking it! does any one else like this?  I'm having a great time with it.  no dar may have started as a snafu this set up but perhaps we can consider using this as a feature from time to time.  it seems less gamey to me you really have to remain sharp the whole time up.

Agreed.  You're initially dependent on people telling you where the fight is.  Once you're in the correct area, though, you really do need to keep an eye out.  I was surprised how accustomed I've become to letting the DAR do my scanning for me (Bear76 will confirm this).

The reduced-range radar settings were one of the MA crowd's old dissing points about the CT.  Subsequent experience has shown that using MA-equivalent settings doesn't draw them in.  So I'm with Storch, I'd be happy to leave out the DAR.

I think it added to the fun. even when the allies had dar and the axis did not- didn't matter once you spotted a dot anyway

no dar or bar is fine with me though on such a large map, the bar would be good to help ppl find the fight

No radar is fine in events like the SEA.In here when most of the time there is 5 or 6 people it is no good.EG.I was just in CT flying alone,I engaged a p38 and shot him down.Suddenly my tail falls off cause the whole time there was a typhie on my 6.Had I been with a squad member like in SEA i would of known about the typhie.BTW before you smartguys say it,yes I was checking my 6 before i went into the fight and there was only 1 con that i could see.

SA works, give it a try.  I occasionally get snuck up on (not often but once in awhile) and when it happens it's my fault, not my buddy's fault and not the fault of the setup.

well firstly the dot far away requires you get with F12 range to IFF.  secondly if you want a 1 v 1 you can usually have it in peace provided your opponent doesn't get hot on the "hep me jebus" channel or run to ack.  thirdly if I'm on your team you don't have to "check 6" me if you want to see me get ganged.  that will allow me to determine how good my SA is.
