Vernal Equinox = Near Mar. 21..Sun Crosses celestial equator on the way north.
Autumnal Equinox= Near Sept. 23 Sun crosses the celestial equator on the way south.
Winter Solstice(N. Hemisphere)=Near Dec 22... Sun farthest south...(Summer Solstice for S. Hemisphere)
Summer Solstice(Northern Hemisphere)= Near June 22nd..Sun Farthest North....

For those who care..Winter, north of the Equator, arrived at Dec 21, 2000  13:23 UT.

1st day of winter??..You HAVE to be joking...
It's been freezing for over a month ! Sheesh.

don't they think that hannukah kawannzoos offends other people?
If someone would come to say that christmas offends him because of some hannukah kwanzoo stuff, I'd say that his hannukah kwanzoos offends me  
(after that i would suggest compromise, where both can say kwanzoo hannukah christmas whatever they believe in.. or stay shut up about it)
