well the LVTs are better protected and can fight back a heckuva lot better (duwk's were unarmed if I recall).

some of us here just like arguing, you provided fodder and apparently furball just left the company of a lady friend so he's mellow or else he would have posted comical photos deriding you. :D

It's my understanding that the "Ducks" were faster both in the water and on land... please correct me if I'm wrong.  If so, sometimes speed is more important than armor.

Frankly the LVT is easily killed with 50 cals... so it's defence really isn't all that great.  True it would be better than the duck, but either way you're gonna get nailed.

I think the Duck would be used quite a bit...but that's just my guess.

Keep in mind though... the above opinion was written under the influence of beer...lots and lots of beer. :rofl

I'd rather be a quack than a duckie.
BTW, they were used quite a bit to transport the wounded from shore ops. But the LVT is cooler. BTW, LVT is some 15 tonnes.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)
