Or maybe you think corporations are supposed to be able to 'buy' politicians like they do?

It's posts like these that just make me laugh.  "soooo dirty" yet not a single point of reference and no shred of truth at all.

The fact that it's ONE count of CONSPIRACY to commit a crime just dumbfounds me.

Tom DeLay a knight in shining armour? I think not. Republicans changed their rules so he could hold office while under indictment.  The political fallout was so great they had to reinstate the rule.

From his track record it appears Ronnie Earle is an equal opportunity procecutor. He's gone after more Dems than Reps. Ronnie Earle may indeed be wearing a tin foil hat, but so are DeLay's supporters.:noid

Let a jury of his peers decide his guilt or innocence. Just remember where there's money and politicians, there's political corruption.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

no one said he's a knight but I have yet to see anyting that would make me think otherwise.

I don't think you can equate Earles track record to today.  Politics changed the minute that GWB was sworn into office.

Keep in mind repubs changed the rules because they thought that this indictment is a political hack job.  They changed it back later and Delay did in fact resign as house majority leader.

2004: Delay Draws Third Rebuke

Quote
The two-pronged rebuke marked the second time in six days -- and the third time overall -- that the ethics panel has admonished the House's second-ranking Republican. The back-to-back chastisements are highly unusual for any lawmaker, let alone one who aspires to be speaker, and some watchdog groups called on him to resign his leadership post.

Maybe you just haven't been paying attention.

They cant win at the ballot box, so they are down to shakey indictments that previous grand juries rejected.  And what's that charge?  Its not on the indictment, read it.

What dissappoints me is that both parties work so hard to destroy each other, that it's got to the point that our government no longer fuctions. I could care less about campain funds as should most people. I could care less about most of the crap that has been flung by both side.HELLO they are POLITICIANS, it's their job to be shady, and no one should expect anything more of them, except for them to maybe do their other job, which is to guide the USA on the right course.

I'll have to quote T. Jefferson again "A little revolution from time to time is a good thing"

Maybe it's about time for a revolution. And voting people in or out of office doesn't count as a revolution either.

You said you've seen nothing that would make you think Delay wasn't anything other than a knight.

Maybe you still haven't.

Agreed, arguin over this crud is like doing this....

Only with the latter you'd eventually knock yourself out and be done with it. With politics and Rep vs Dem, it's just one headache after another. They are all pretty much the same if you ask me. Most of them are crooks and few have any real ties/feeling what it's like to be the "common man" but they sure will spout that they feel are pain. I feel better, carry on:cool:

I realize you're having a crisis of faith, ASTAC. That usually happens when you back the wrong horse, and you slowly realize that your heroes are nothing more than thugs, crooks, cheats and liars.

But short of your dream of revolting (essentially drawing a line down the middle of the country and shooting those countrymen not on your side - instilling a government by force) everyone else still has to live in reality world. Pity as it may be, the conduct of those in office still matters.

It's teh funnay watching the veil lift... watching as some folks rub the sleep out of their eyes. What do they want to do? "Ah screw it! everything sucks!"

You got a federal probe implicating Bush's number one political advisor along with Cheney's Chief of Staff, for violating laws protecting CIA agents and lying to the Feds.

The Republican majority leader of the Senate under investigation by the SEC for the very same thing that put Martha behind bars.

The Republican majority leader of the House under indictment for campaign law violations.

A Bush admin guy arrested this week for lying to the Feds about a Republican lobbyist tight with DeLay, Norquist, Reed, Rove etc. who has himself been arrested on charges surrounding a mafia murder plot.

It's so nice to these swine return "honour and integrity" to Washington, isn't it?

The problem is NOT just with the republicans, The democrats have their fair share of dirt. And when they have power again one day, all their dirt will come to light...

It's the fact that, this going back and forth is all they are capable of doing.

What legislation has been passed in the past 10-15 years that actually benifitted any of us.

Most everything you hear about has something to do with taking away or restricting your rights, by going over, under, and around the Constitution.

The people believe (wrongly)it is their job to solve all out problems. So why not at least try to even do that?

Maybe they can stop bickering and work on something worthwhile for a change..then maybe my "faith" could be restored

Not even close...

But I guess it's a matter of degrees.

It was fascinating; the clarity and the single-minded focus as you dug yourselves in.

It is no wonder that in order to extricate yourself now, you're resorting to strapping dynamite to your bellybutton and taking everyone out.

The roles were EXACTLY reversed in the 90's under Clinton. How soon everyone forgets.

Want another opinion? Maybe the only way to make our governmet work againb, is to abolish political parties. make people vote for people and not party agendas.
