Where were you?

The Dems had power, and the reps did all they could to fling mud to topple that power..

The roles are EXACTLY reversed.

Where was I during that? Living in a place where traffic constantly got screwed up every time Clinton came to visit, every time some big shot foreign head of state visited the UN, or every time Hillary and Chelsea got the urge to go shopping in style.

The amount of "mud-slinging" was unprecedented in modern politics. Rush Limbaugh was born. FOX was born. Coultier was born. 90's Republican poster boy Gingrich published "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control"... wherein he called on Republicans to change the discourse and, when referring to Democrats, use the terms:

"Anti-flag, anti-family, anti-child, anti-jobs, betray, coercion, collapse, consequences, corruption, crises, decay, deeper, destroy, destructive, devour, endanger, failure, greed, hypocrisy, ideological, impose, incompetent, insecure, liberal, lie, limit(s), pathetic, permissive attitude, radical, self-serving, sensationalists, shallow, sick, they/them, threaten, traitors, unionized bureaucracy, urgent, waste."

Nice, huh?

Whitewater was a witch hunt in every sense of the term.

Fast-forward to Bush's term, and you've got a wounded nation writing Bush blank checks. You've got a press core looking the other way. You couldn't have had a worse term... yet he's re-elected? That's not rational. That's fear talkin' on a national scale.

So there is a HUGE difference between the Clinton and Bush Presidencies. One was under assault by crooks, and the other is governed by crooks.

So ya know? When I hear you folks say "They're BOTH bad".... I just laugh a little. It's kinda like you blowing a Math test and saying "Well school sucks anyways!"

What I'm trying to say is..given our choices, They are ALL bad and it's a lose lose situation no matter which you vote for, because the other will just tie up the party in power by

A: Disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing

B: Investigating/indicting the crap out of whoever is in power

You could always throw your vote away and vote libertarian, but w3hat would be the point. Somehow these 2 parties have convinced the people that there are only 2  parties that are allowed to hold power.

Hey Astac.  I see you're getting more and more serious.  Have a few beers, if the feeling is still there in the morning, hang onto it.

When it does start up, give me a call.  It should be fun revolting.

I don't think Delay is the boogie man or the scumbag that the left would have us believe.  This is an enormous oppertunity for them and by some remote chance a prosecuter in texas convinced a grand jurry to indict him on ONE count of CONSPIRACY.

We are seeing one a real one sided story play out and the left is making a play.....politics as usual.

He had the dignity to resign as Senate majority leader.  I'm too lazy to actually dig it up but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of democrats that do/have done the same things he has been cited for by the ethics commity.

Well that's politics.

And it's all good and well to say "Libertarian" (a lot of that going around lately, heh) but that aint gonna work. It's an unworkable political philosophy.

So you're still left with the two choices. None of them pure.

Lesser of two evils? Pretty much. Always will be.

But I swear dude.... The difference between the two evils in this case is so incredibly vast... prarie sky far and wide... that a baby/bathwater solution is only heard coming from those realizing how deeply they've been duped.

Well Nash I'm glad you said that because I agree with you.  I only lean republican because I can't stand the leftist socialist ways.  There is virtually NOTHING in the left's message (when they actually have one) that I agree with.  To me I think the left is making a good show of force but the democrats are a majorly devided house of cards.  Much more so than the right.

I think the two party system is ruining our country

Not that I have been duped.

I have always been a very pro military person, ever since I was a kid.

We had the best funding and best pay raises under Republicans. That formed my basis for support.

Also the fact that I lean more to the right than the left makes me more Repuplican minded.

I hate Socialism, which with all their programs the Democrats would have us be. Thats just one of their flaws in my mind. I didn't rely on FOX or RUSH to come to my conclusion about Democrats, they speak for themselves well enough.

Duped, no I don't think so....

Just unable to support my chosen party...

and absolutely refuse to support the other.

So try and fix it - if you care. Because that's all you have to work with.

But if you're content to swallow the mud with a smile, spitting it right back out on everyone else with bile.... thinkin' you're helpin' the situation... you aint.

Limbaugh talkin' points aint done a damn thing to make life better for anyone.

Encourage those with promise. Hold the accountable, accountable. Understand what you're saying and your reason for saying it. Do nothing blind. Care not about your peer's judgement of you, but your own. Have faith. Be optimistic. Stuff like that.

I believe that a lot of Republicans are more Libertarian then they let on.  Just the same with commies and Demos.

However, until something happens, I will still vote Republican for practical reasons.
