Why is Boston/A-20G in AH too easy to kill?

I swear they're too easy to kill.

a couple sneeze of 20mms and A-20 will just "explode".

this is the same with 303 and 50 cals but u need more stream to make it explode.

I've not noticed that, seems to take as much damage as a P38 (A20 anyway)
I love catching someone off gaurd and out turning them in an A20, killed a P38G and he says "I see HTC suped up the A20."
Both plane's tail gun has poor tail visibility because of that big ole vertical stab
Reason boston is so easy to kill is it is such an early war plane and it's best defense it to attempt to out run 109Es in early war set ups.

I think there may be something wrong with it's durability..it does pop
VERY quickly, especially for a bomber.

It's been like this since AH2 came out. No doubt a bug. 2 7mm pings in the port engine and POP it's gone. Hit it with a couple 50cals in the tail/fuselage and POP it's gone.

I don't know, the other night in FSO I hosed one down with a Zeke and barely set it on fire. And I was on his 6 for several seconds, real close, like D200, firing a LONG burst from all guns.

Got into a tussle a few nights ago against a N1K2 while flying  an A-20 as a fighter.  While fighting the N1K2, every Knitwit and his mother came in for the cherry pick.  After I finally managed to fight my way out, I had lost my rudders, right aileron, left flap, radiator leak in engine #1, oil leaks to both engine #1  and #2, and both upper/tail guns knocked out and managed to limp the Havoc home.  Seems kind of tough to me.

It is tough to kill.  Takes at least three 30mm hits to down, unlike fighters that only require one.  Simple math says it's about 3x tougher than a fighter is.

CORRECTION: It can take lots of cannon punishment. It's the 30cal and 50cal that kill it instantly.

I think that's a bit more accurate. Albeit stranger.

I dont think its bug'd at all. I've gotten into some serious **** with it, most of the time it came out banged up but still flying.

I feel it's cockpit is REAL weak. The rest of the bird is very tough, but any round in or near the cockpit seems to make them pop IMO.

hmmm those who were flying that N1K must be bad shooters. A good shot on the wing root or fuselage should have POPed you :)

I'm under the impression the cockpit isn't armored or maybe i'm just getting the golden bb. But it seems more damage tolorant to cannon then MG. Was tank plinking the other night, and got 1 ping'd from a Tiger's top gun - the 7.7mm MG. I dunno, its a mix'd bag - requires air support - but fun when you have that support. Landed 10 kills several times over the past week. Ask MugZ, he took several 500 lb'ders while driving in a prestine Panzer.

I love to see Bostons/A20's, they are the easiest to kill, one burst from the guns of the c.205 and they explode.
