Most brit tanks are lighter, correct? You have the same problem with the US Sherman tank:

if you add 1 light tank it totally sucks compared to the powerful heavy tanks in the game right now. You can't just add 1 light tank. You have to add a whole slew of light tanks (for other light tanks to fight), and in AH everybody's just going to take a panzr (or tigr, it seems) and be invulnerable to every other vehicle in the game.

I would like to see more tanks, lighter tanks, etc. I don't think they'll have a place in AH until the GV damage model is revamped to a point past its superficial self.

British tanks that would be ok would be a later Churchill VII with a 75mm gun, the Sherman Firefly Vc with the 17lber, a Challenger with the 17lber or a Comet with the 17lber.  All of those tanks would find some use in the AH MA, particularly the three armed with the 17lber which would be very dangerous to the Tiger I.

dont forget the matilda, it was all but invincible durring the early war period. its only flaw was its slow speed. also, it is the only tank in history to be named after a woman. for late war you have yer churchills, valentines, cromwells and such.

The Comet was the best British tank of the war. However I'd suggest a basic Sherman and a perked Sherman Firefly would be the way to go. Also a perked T34/85. This gives a lot of late war scenario options with the existing German armour.

Why would you perk a T-34/85?  It still isn't as good as the Panzer IV H.

I agree that the Sherman Firefly Vc would need a light perk price.  The gun is too powerful to be free.

Not that I wouldnt want to see a Sherman Firefly, but if we are going to add a British tank, make it one of theirs, not a modified US tank. I would say the Valentine, Churchill, and Cromwell would be good choices.

What?

Lets see:

T34/85 gun and Pz4 gun are very close in performance and rate of fire, lets call it a draw.

T34/85 has faster turret traverse than Pz4.

T34/85 frontal and side armor much better than PzIV frontal armor.

T34/85 turret side armor is equal or better than Tiger 1 turret side armor.

T34/85 is 10mph faster than Pz4.

Yea, T34/85 is surely isnt as good as Pz IV, it only matches firepower while having 40-50% greater speed and much better armor...

GRUNHERZ,

The penetration tables I have seen for the T-34/85's cannon are well, well behind those of the Panzer IV H's.  They are much better than the 76mm on the T-34/76, but given the T-34/76 can barely kill a Panzer IV H from point blank range that isn't saying a lot.

T-34/85 vs Panzer IV H:

Gun: Panzer IV H by  a long shot
Speed: T-34/85 by a long shot
Armor: Panzer IV H by a slight margin
Anti-Aircraft: Panzer IV H by a slight margin

Overall: Panzer IV H by a slight margin

I'll bet you that the next one will be the Sherman ,and then the Firefly would be a good addition as well. Perked? Perhaps, for otherwise the normal Sherman would not see much use.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

The T34/76 not getting used was the reason I suggested perking the 85. Or how about an Su 100 instead?
